Social Studies - Mississippi Instructional Materials Matter

When Mississippi social studies teachers have great instructional materials, they can focus their time, energy, and creativity on bringing lessons to life and inspiring their students to learn, grow, and succeed.

In 2022, the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) worked with Mississippi teachers and to revise the Mississippi Career- and College-Readiness Social Studies Standards. The HQIM rubric was created to evaluate social studies materials to identify and adopt high-quality, standards-aligned materials for K-8 and high school. Learn more by clicking on the links below.
