Teaching is tough, but when teachers are provided with high-quality, standards-aligned materials and training, they can focus on bringing their lessons to life instead of spending time searching for materials or preparing them from scratch.

Teachers in Mississippi have assessed and approved a variety of instructional materials for subjects including mathematics, social studies, science, English, career and technical education (CTE), art, and world languages, based on the adopted evaluation rubrics. To support your efforts in promoting these high-quality instructional materials, which have been reviewed and approved by Mississippi teachers and the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE), please visit our Key Messages page. This page offers resources to assist teachers in collaborating with their districts to ensure that they are providing high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) to both educators and students.

Mississippi Instructional Resource Center

The Mississippi Instructional Resource Center (MIRC) serves as a central repository for braille textbooks, large print textbooks, and specialized educational materials. MIRC manages the registration of students who are legally blind and oversees the APH Federal Quota Funds. These funds are utilized to purchase braille, large print, and specialized textbooks and educational materials for legally blind students in public, private, and parochial schools, as well as other statewide agencies.
