Teaching is tough, but when teachers are provided high-quality, standards-aligned materials and training, they can focus on bringing their lessons to life instead of spending time searching for materials or preparing them from scratch.
Mississippi teachers have evaluated and approved various materials for mathematics, social studies, science, and English, as well as CTE, art, and world languages, using the adopted rubrics. To help you advocate the use of these high-quality instructional materials that have been reviewed and adopted by Mississippi teachers and MDE, visit our Key Messages page. This page provides resources to help teachers work with their districts to ensure they are providing HQIM to teachers and students.
Mississippi Instructional Resource Center
The Mississippi Instructional Resource Center (MIRC) serves as a repository for braille textbooks, large print textbooks, and specialized educational materials. The MIRC coordinates the registration of students who are legally blind and manages the APH Federal Quota Funds. The funds are used to purchase braille, large print, and specialized textbooks and educational materials for students who are legally blind in public, private, and parochial schools and other statewide agencies.
